Anyone have dealership calling you for having TSS unplugged?

I was installing light bar with the grill removed on my 2021.

Finished installing and plugged everything back on within an hr.

Dealership said, Hello we got a notification that your TSS was off is everything ok?

I told them everything fine lol

The wife's 2020 Highlander had something similar happen a little while back. Don't remember all the details but received a call from the dealer that was obviosly monitoring the car. I figured it was the connected services app that she uses to remote start and lock/unlock doors.

Same here. Brand new truck and somehow my warranty is expired. I not very rarely answer a call if I do not recognize the number.

Didn't realize it comes with TSC, now I have to wait until subscription expires.

You may have it for 3-6 months free from Toyota unless you subscribed for it when signing paperwork for the truck.

When I picked up my ‘21, I noticed there was a small sticker on the overhead console that reads as follows:

“Vehicle Data Transmission Is On...Your vehicle wirelessly transmits location, driving and vehicle health data to deliver your services and for internal research and data analysis. See www.toyota.com/privacyvts. To disable, press vehicle’s SOS button.”

I don’t recall seeing a sticker like that on our ‘19 Avalon.

I made very clear to the dealership that I did NOT want to be signed up for ANY subscriptions whatsoever, with Toyota or any 3rd party. TSC allows them to track your location and how you use your truck. They send you reminders to get your oil changed, etc. No thanks. I didn’t buy this truck so I could be spied on.

I even had them send me an email to confirm. You might call and see if you’re signed up for the free trial. I believe you can cancel it at any time.

You can cancel the trial subscription. Just have to call toyota. Then you can also request then delete all info they have on you.
