Buying tires this week and looking for experiences with these. Would be either a 285/70r18 ridge grappler or 295/70r18 cooper at3xlt. Weight is close to the same on both tires. Had the 295/70r18 on my ram 2500 and they rode nice and didn’t throw rocks when coming off the gravel roads. Spend all fall hunting, so need traction for gravel, mud and snow conditions. Wife would appreciate a quiet tire lol.

I dont have either, but I do have Trail Grapplers. Traction is no problem. They have deep tread, and wide grooves, but they are MT s, so they do make a hum on the highway:D

I have the ridge grapplers and while I personally don't get in much mud or any snow, they would probably be better than the coopers in the mud. I have seen where people have said the r.g. weren't that good in the snow though. In my opinion, they are not as good as you would think in the rain. . . I'm sure more will chime in.

Had both, final conclusion was that the ridge grapplers looked better, Coopers were better at everything else I did.

Even now though, the more mild look of the xlt keeps me from getting them again. So I guess whatever difference there is, it’s not massive.
