So, being new to the page, I am trying to go for the stupidest question right off the bat...

I recently acquired some Nitto Trail Grapplers M/T 35x12.50R20 LT and am wanting to wrap my wheels with Nitto Trail Grapplers M/T 37x12.50R20 LT.

I acquired the tires brand new and never mounted in a benefit silent auction so I have no where I can return them. I have listed them on Craigslist in the Dallas area but haven't had any luck yet. I am scheduled to get everything installed in 2 weeks and am wanting to have the 37s in hand for installation without having to come out of pocket for another $1,900.

Has anyone ever heard of a place that would trade brand new, never mounted, sticker tires for the same tire in a different size? Long shot but figured it was worth asking.

How about trying to return them to the store that sold them to you. might be worth a try.

If you had read the post you would know that is not an option. He won them in a charity silent auction.

I contacted the local Discount Tire and he said they're not allowed to accept any tires without a purchase receipt or online order history showing they were purchased from Discount Tire. The guy at the counter told me to try a garage sale....

Can you contact the benefit that you won them from? Maybe they still have the documents and explain that you need to exchange them for a different size.

Unfortunately, it was not a business organization that made the donation. From what the event organizer told me, it was an individual who had purchased them for a vehicle he owned and then he changed his mind. Instead of returning them for a refund, he elected to donate them to the charity benefit and use it as a tax write-off. Worst case scenario, I hold onto the tires for a little bit until the next round of stimulus checks comes out and someone wants to use the "free" money to buy tires...or I find a way to put them on my son's go-kart...

I knew of one place like that....but as luck would have it...they went out of business. The main problem they had was ....they never made any money.:spending:

I think you get the point...so I would suggest seeing if you could trade the tires and give them an additional 500.00 or 700.00 or so. Or try selling them for 1,300-1,600. If you sell them will you refund them or give them a different size?

They are currently listed online for $1,600. The local 4WP has them for over $2,000 so I figured it wasn't a bad price to list them at. If they sell then great. If not, then I have a brand new set for my wife's Yukon.

That's a pretty simplistic (and unhelpful) view of this situation. The tires he wants would be more anyways, I don't think he's expecting a straight up trade and not cover the difference. He's even willing to take a hit on them just to avoid full price on the new tires.

Its not a stretch to think someone like Discount or 4WP would take them in and order him the new size, since they can easily turn around and sell these at full price with no issues. I'd probably be trying the same thing. Their reach is much further than an individual listing on Craigslist, so they can move them a lot quicker than he could. They probably won't for legal/warranty reasons more than anything else, but they very easily could.

For the OP, have you discussed this with the shop doing your install? If you offer them for at or cheaper than their cost, and order the new tires from them, they make at least one sale for sure, and eventually two sales (when they sell the 35s). You may take a loss overall, but better than paying full price for what you want and having the other set taking up space in your garage. It may be worth asking.
