Please Help Me ID This Part?

We had a storm here in Hingham, Mass a week ago. I went out and moved the truck and they cleared the space. I parked. Meanwhile we had rain and all is melted. I went out today and this was underneath... the guy in front of me hasn't been there at all, so I have to assume it fell from the underside of my truck.

What the heck is it and do I need to replace it?

 

Looks like a piece of rain gutter to me. Not sure it goes on the truck.

Just the one picture/perspective makes it kinda hard to glean any information/size. Is metal/plastic/rubber?

 

Yeah doesnt look like a truck part to me either. Most likely fell out of someone's trailer or scrap metal truck.

I'ts heavy metal and doesn't look like a car part to me either, so I wonder if it fell off one of the little plows? It wasn't there when I pulled in after he finished or at least I did not notice it. Today I went out to drain the water from the back (yes my cap leaks and I can't figure out from WHERE! !@#@#$@#) and when I started to move forward I heard it clang as I ran over it so I jumped out to look and there it was.

 

I just watched a video that scanned the whole underside of a truck and did not see anything like it.

Well I’m back. After two more pieces of metal falling off the underside of my truck I now realize that the off-road package comes with a lot of things called heat shields and skid plates. While driving down the Southeast Expressway last weekend a giant piece of corrugated metal fell down and was scraping so I stopped conveniently at an auto body shop and they were nice enough to climb under and remove it. When I got to the Toyota dealership they also told me that the gas tank shield was hanging down in the front it would cost me $943. I told them just to tape the damn thing up.

While I was there I ordered a brand new SR5 TRD off-road double cab 6.5 bed.

I hated to do this because I love the rounded wheel wells on my 2008 model which only has around 89,000 miles on it. at my request they’re also swapping my super duper expensive tires back to the new truck from the old one because they’re brand new.

I do not like the squared off wheel wells but I guess they insist. The rounded look of my 2008 is much prettier and I don’t think they’ve made as pretty a truck since. Oh well you’ll have to forgive me I’m a woman and I like pretty trucks.

Whoever gets my 2008 is going to love it it’s so clean and spotless inside no smoking no food no pets the backseat is immaculate because nobody sat in it. It’s been perfectly maintained. As for those pieces falling off the bottom they were never replaced because I told they were not necessary.


This time I was smart enough to get the deck rails so stuff won’t slide to the front, however I’m going to have to wait 10 weeks for my LEER cap to arrive and that will put us right in pollen season. I am worried about the pollen getting all crap into the deck rails and can those be washed?

 

I took possession of my 2021 tundra SR5 TRD off-road on Saturday and will be moving this discussion over to that forum.
