Ordered a set of OEM black step tubes for my 2021 Crewmax Limited, and picked them up at the dealer yesterday (Part Number PT2123407D02). Start installing them this morning, only to discover that the 2 middle brackets (labeled ‘front mid’ and ‘rear’ respectively) don’t even come close to lining up with the factory holes. The front and rear fit perfectly.

Fortunately, the dealer parts counter was open when I called. They validated that the step tubes were a match for my VIN, and had me bring them back. Was able to get a refund, which is good, but I really want some step tubes that are truly OEM fit / no drill. I took pics to show the issue before disassembling and taking them back.

    Anyone else experienced this?

Are you sure you don't have the tubes on the wrong sides?

Yep, that was the first thing I thought and checked. It’s possible they sent the wrong brackets, as those were the same for both sides. Regardless, they weren’t right. Kind of a head scratcher, as this is the first time I’ve ever seen something like this from Toyota.

Strange. I doubt they moved the holes for 2021 but its possible

Maybe you have a set for a double cab?

Perhaps. The online parts store shows the brackets being available separately, and it looks like there’s right and left brackets. The set that came with mine, were all the same. It’s all moot at this point, as they’ve been returned, but its still curious.

Shouldn't be different on a 21. I installed my steps on my 21 crewmax that I had originally purchased and installed for my 19. So it either has to be the brackets or the steps that are incorrect. Like Avi8or said have you checked if they are in fact for the crewmax not a double cab?
