    Hi Guys.

Need some help here. I purchased the sport grill in Magnetic Grey thinking I could swap out the TSS Toyota symbol and save myself some money vs. the Pro Grill.

Turns out there are 2 different TSS Symbols that have different tabs? Why would Toyota do this?

Has anyone else experienced this? I don't want to spend another $300 on the same TSS symbol that I pretty much already have.

The part number I have is 53141-71010.

    I guess I need 9097502159

Should have just bought the Pro grill and TSS insert!

That is a bummer for sure...

Are you able to just keep the insert and run the cover you have in the MGM surround?

Yeah the super thread is where I got the idea to switch! I just assumed I had the new TSS emblem. I didn't know the part number I had differed until I pulled the chrome grill off!

So, was the end goal to go from a chrome surround to a body colored surround?

Yeah exactly. Wanted the whole thing to be MGM. Didn't want to mess with taking the tabs off the old grill and leaving the TSS. Seems like too many people are breaking tabs when doing that.

I got one. I just pulled off my grille from my 2019 Sport..I assume it’s the same. I’m at the dentist right now, but I can see what tabs are on the back when I get home. It’s just sitting in my garage right now. FCD7A43E-1363-4B5A-8382-489671FBF781.jpg

The emblem change happened sometimes during Feb-March 2020. There was a post here somewhere from Roman with all the information.
    https://www.tundras.com/threads/differences-in-emblems-on-2018-grilles.71405/#post-1976751

A 2019 grille will have the old style emblem on it. My 2020 was built 2/20 and had the old style emblem, but I’m told that was right around the changeover to the new emblem

This is a bummer. HighonFirewood sounds like your emblem won't work but I really appreciate you reaching out.

On another point of view, the emblem is the same size (if I remember correctly and looking at the emblem thread). If there is a way to use some adhesive or a creative way to mount the emblem on the grill, it could save some effort, time or money to find a the correct emblem with the correct mounting pieces...

But of course, this does not take into account future maintenance, etc.

Yeah, I just popped it out just to make sure..it’s the one that won’t work..I woulda just given it to ya. Or if you want to to try to mod it lemme know. I have no use for it other than tacking it up in my garage.

Omo I’m looking for the new one.

Highon thanks for checking! I have the same one as you. Not sure if I should try to sell and buy new or bust out the dremel and double sided tape. Not sure if the TSS will get messed up with the tape.

You could probably sell yours for a few dollars. Otherwise I would be happy to take it off your hands and sand it down to fit until I found a good deal on a new one. I would cover all your shipping costs.

This is a great forum thanks for all the help everyone!

    @cpr1979MGMTUNDRA, I have one.
    PM me if interested.

I had the opposite problem a few months ago.
I bought a Platinum grill to replace my Limited grill and needed the older TSS cover so I had to search for the old style. Found one that came off a Land Cruiser, but it fit and works fine.
