Have you checked the options on the touchscreen, maybe under vehicle settings? I know there are some options there (door locks and drls), but not sure if the door chime is one of them.

If it’s not in the headunit vehicle settings screen, the dealer should be able to do it with their Techstream software

On my older truck (2011) there wasn't an option to turn the door chime off, even with Techstream. Buuuut, the volume and chime rate each have three options. What I did is set the rate and volume to their slowest/lowest settings. From my perspective this was the least annoying while still reminding me where the key is, and the radio doesn't need to be very loud to mask the sound.

Have you done this with the carista? Techstream doesn't have this option. I know when I had my Tacoma the only way people disabled it is by pinning the drivers door actuator closed.

Let me double check after I get off work (7 PM). I thought it was an option but I may be thinking about something else. I’ll let you know.

Check the build link in my signature.
Read through the “customizations” section of the user manual (section 8). It lists what can be changed and whether it can be done in the head unit or using techstream. My understanding is that carista can do many of the things techstream can (aside from programming key transponders and fobs).

Take the front seat out and put it on the roof works like a charm

I had a list of all things I wanted shut off before I took delivery. They did it for free and said I could change it back at anytime, no charge.
    Edit.
I might be wrong here, but I had my seatbelt chime shutoff and not the open door chime. Unknown if it is indeed possible to shut that one off.

The seatbelt chime (but not the dash indicator) can be muted completely, both driver and passenger.

Yes and that is what I did, and was thinking the OP was looking for. But then I realized, the open door chime, not the seatbelt chime, is what he was actually looking for and then edited my oops. Lol

Huh, see I didn't know that the headlamp chime (didn't even recall that there was one) could be muted.

free99, jam a screwdriver handle between the door striker and that rubber sensor, just remember to take it off... Its not fancy, and you don't need to spend 4 hours at the dealer for it...

So there is no option to mute it through software. If not, ill take apart the sensor and trick it into thinking its always closed.

I disabled the seat belts chimes through techstream. I just don't think it is possible with the door chime. It's annoying that I have to remove the key from the ignition completely so it doesn't go off.

That may keep your interior lights from turning on when you open the door. Test before buttoning it up...

Depending on when it is annoying you the most, this may help.

When you come to a stop, put the truck in Park, then take your foot off the brake, and ONLY THEN turn the truck off. When you open the door, no chime. For some reason, if you have your foot on the brake when you shut the truck off, it will chime.

You are correct. Another way to disable the sensor it to use thin napoleon washers on the screw. This blocks the sensor from being grounded and it won't function. I'm now thinking of unplugging the alarm behind the dash.
