Looking to level my new 21 limited. Ride is a concern since my wife drives it also. Mainly street and forest roads during hunting season. Will most likely buy a entire kit with uca, but not sure whether shackles or block in he back. Truck sits exactly 2” lower in the front at the moment. Will be running 34x11.50 size tires on scs +25 wheels.

Welcome and congrats on the new truck!

Some people love Icon.. I think they ride great, but I would recommend Fox as well.. when shock brands are discussed you basically get the universal response that if you choose either Fox, King, or ADS you will be very happy and really can’t go wrong with any of these brands.

As for the rear end I think this is typically a safe reference:
    leaf springs> add a leaf> shackle > blocks.

Just depends how much you want to spend and how you plan to use your truck: towing, heavy loads in the bed etc.

Ehh they certainly have a cool factor. Most people I know running adjustable shocks typically find a preferred setting and leave them there for the most part. If you think your truck will vary in weight regularly it would be some meaningful $$ spent. Would be nice to stiffen things up when you get loaded with weight. Otherwise if you get good shocks like the Fox, you can tune the shocks to float over roads just fine without the adjusters.

I don’t think there is any reason to mess with BDS and unfortunately these heavy trucks really are better served with 2.5 shocks. If you want to spend the extra money, get the extended travel Fox 2.5 coilovers without adjusters.

Or go after these and save some money

I've had my Icons for 40,000 miles. All of the name brands shocks will have to be rebuilt eventually and they all have there pros and cons. Honestly if I had to do it all over..... I'd just go with the best price at the time. You'll get many versions and stories about which is the best, but their all about the same. The valving is a little different between a few and change ride characteristics on road/off road.
