So I just picked up a new set of SCS SR8s. It's actually my second time buying SCS wheels, I had F5's on my Taco. While I don't love the fake beadlock look at ALL, I love the fact that SCS wheels are a good bit lighter than almost all other ones (Method, Fuel, etc...) Now I wish I had checked weight before I bought the Falken Wildpeaks (275/70/18) last year since they are pig heavy at 61lbs. Had I known I would have thrown on the Toyo AT3 are almost 10 lbs lighter.

I know it's a bit duplicative to really care about weight driving a Tundra. I just figure that any reduction in rotating mass hopefully give me better gas mileage and conversely more power. While I do work from home and I almost never drive anywhere much anymore (I've put 10k miles on my truck in 2 years.) However, I do tow a 7k lbs camper and being able to extend that mileage even a little is HUGE. I try to minimize the negotiating gas stations with a 31' camper behind a 18' truck.

So I guess all of that being said, anyone else look at weight closely? Did anyone see any difference when you swapped wheels\tires?

Yep, when I replaced my tires earlier this year I checked tire weights and it was one of the main factors in deciding which tire I wanted to run. I had several I would have been happy with and some were 10lbs heavier than others...chose the lighter tires.

I recently bought a set of 295/70/18 bridgestone AT Revo 3 tires. Weight was big factor at only 54 lbs (E rated). Tirerack lists most specs for most of their tires, but not always accurate.
These tires were advertised at 34.3", but the real measurement is 33.5",
weight was accurate at 54 lbs,
tread width was accurate at 9"
total width was off - says 11.8, but only 11 in reality.
The "real" numbers I reported were actually on a MFG sticker on one of the 4 tires I ordered, I verified them all with scale and tape measure too.
These tires had great overall reviews and great snow reviews too.
Most other tires in this size were 65+ lbs. I may take some pics tomorrow but I don't have any on hand.

def not alone here. I have just carefully selected a new wheel / tire combo. dropped from 35x12.5 on a 20x10 to 285/70/17 on a 17x8.5. tire size difference is only a little over 2 inches smaller, but combined with a 25 pound wheel weight compared to 44.65, and the much lighter tire, should make a huge difference. Also the change from an MT to AT = less rolling resistance so I can't wait to compare before/after performance, economy etc. Although, driving a Tundra, stopped caring about gas mileage a long time ago. But interested none the less.

The 255/70/R18 Michelin LTX M/S² tire on a BBS FORGED PRO wheel has a combined weight of approximately 65 lbs.

No, I always check weights myself. I want a new set of wheels for mine but have already decided I will not go heavier. . .as far as tires either. . Not the fuel mileage that bothers me but the loss of power.

So for those that care, I got the SR8 from SCS and the real no BS scale said 28.6... Still not much of a drop from the stock 31 but not horrible. If you’ve thrown your wheels tires on a scale lemme know.
