My passenger side blower fan rattles when it is cold out. Like 30 degrees F and below. It only does it for a little while until the truck warms up, then it quiets down. It is a low squeak until you hit a bump or even a rough road, then it is like a rattling chirp.

Anybody else have this or is it just me? Have you been able to do anything for it?

I think it's the lower plastic shield at the bottom of the unit. Mine was doing it too last year. I was able to move it with my foot. It hasn't been acting up yet this year.

My blower motor doesn't rattle but it does have a very light squeak/chirp on the low setting. Just haven't gotten around to removing it to look at it or grease it

Tacoma blowers are infamous for their chirping and rattling on the low speed. Cursed delphi parts

It wasn't hard to remove on that truck. Just like 5 phillips screws and a harness plug to remove and it came right out. Could have it regreased in an hour and be good for another year.

I'll be crawling into the passenger floor board this weekend. I'll give it a look!

Tore my blower motor apart last night. Was able to get the motor out of the housing but could not for the life of my remove the fan from the motor. It is press fit onto the shaft. I sprayed some electric motor cleaner in the motor, till it ran clear, sprayed some dry lube on the rear bearing, and washed the plastic housing with dish soap and a scrub brush. There was dust everywhere from the brushes. Really really fine dust too, don't agitate it too much, it stays airborne for awhile, and you don't wanna breath that stuff in. Fan is still the same, it didn't change the noise. While holding the motor and trying to free spin the fan, it had a good bit of resistance and it couldnt keep its momentum. It's stopped before making a full revolution on its own. Oh well, it still works in the truck.

Found some exact replicas on Amazon that have a flange nut on the end of the shaft, so ill probably get one of those so I can tear it apart if need be to clean and grease/replace bearings and brushes. I'll keep the original motor for the resistor and parts.

    Hope this helps someone

Update. Ordered a fan off of Amazon. Went out after one day so I returned it. Got one from auto zone with a lifetime warranty. It has the nut on the fan as well so I can tear it apart to clean or repair.
