    Here we go again...

    so I regeared my 2019 to 5:29’s on 35’s.
The mechanic shop had high ratings and put the rear together 3 time’s to see if that could get the gears to be quiet. No dice. They are loud. High pitched whistle sound after I let off the gas and coast at approximately 50mph.
The mechanic is frustrated as well. All they do is regear trucks and off road vehicles there.
Anyone else have this issue with Nitro 5:29’s ???

I have that same set without any issues. I bought the complete kit, bearings and all.....along with an Auburn pro as well.

There has been a couple of posts about 5.29s and noise recently. I don’t think they were resolved. Seems people said some 5.29s are noisy and it doesn’t go away. Try to search for the threads.

Mine are not bad at all, same set up with 35’s. I had all of my gears cryo treated before I installed them. No idea if that made a difference but the noise is not bad in my opinion

I have front and rear 5.29s with front and rear lockers on 37s. Haven’t noticed any noise and I’m typically always listening for new sounds the truck makes.

I heard Nitro had an issue with a run of gears that were noisy, 5:29 and 4:88. A friend of mine @osidepunker had the same issue with a set of 4:88’s. The shop who installed them contacted Nitro and I believe they sent a new set under warranty.
