Installed my SPC UCAs (25490) this weekend and everything went well until I tried to install the ABS wire bracket. Not sure where i went wrong. Couple of issues.

    1. For some reason, the length of ABS wire between the frame and the UCA are just a tad short that when I position the bracket, it pulls on the wire. I tried it fully extended (wheels hanging) and weight on wheels positions. Had to take the wire out from the clamp to allow the bracket to be positioned on the arm.

    2. The installation instructions say to reuse the bolt for the bracket on the UCA. Used a 1/4" drive ratchet because torque spec is 10ft lb and noticed that the bolt was tight. Held the ratchet by the head so wasn't using a lot of torque on it and before I realized it, the head snapped right at the surface.

Whats worse is I tried using a reverse bit to back out the broken stud but the reverse bit also snapped. Not sure what to do at this point.

So for now, I have the brackets zip tied to the arm so that i can take it for alignment on Wed.

Happens to everyone with SPC UCAs. You can use a flat screw driver to pry open the metal tabs holding the sensor cable and tube protection. Then move the sensor wires it around to re-fit. I ended up wrapping one area with some tape because the protective tubing was not long enough to reach one of the clips - it works. remove the cable / tubing from the bracket then install the bracket (after you fix the bolt issue). I used a hammer to slightly change the orientation of the cable clamp once it was bolted on. Then re-fit the cable and use pliers or whatever to close all the pinch clamps.
The sell steel zip ties - that might be even easier.
SPC should move that hole by about an inch or so...

Thats interesting. Did a quick search on here but did not find any reported issues. Talked to SPC technical hotline today about this and they told me that have no reports of any issues with the ABS bracket position. Also, they have no idea why the factory bolt would not fit in the hole. I did not think there was a need to clean the threads in the hole since I did not do any additional paint or powercoating. I'll try drilling it out later this week when i have more time.

I just bent my brackets a little. I can get a couple pics for you if you want to see them.

Thanks but I should be able to figure it out when I have more time to reposition the wires. The installation was pretty easy and just did not expect the bracket and bolt to be an issue. I was trying to get it finished quickly because it was getting late so when the bolt snapped, decided to just zip tie it and call it a day. Will look at it closely when I have time this weekend.

I installed a set on my Taco & a set on my Tundra. I didn't have that problem on either.

Mine installed without any problems. Not sure what may be going on.

Here are some pics of mine. I had to bend the bracket back a little and put a slight twist in them.

Thank you. I had sometime yesterday and was able to do the same to the passenger side. A little disappointed that I did have to tap the threads to clean out a lot of material before I could put the bolt in. Still got to drill out the driver side.

I hear you. It's always something. Hopefully I don't run in to any issues when I install the transmission cooler this weekend.
