I broke my tundra already !

Opened passenger side rear door . Wind grabbed it hard. When door hit as far as it could open I heard plastic fall down inside door. Oh well. Maybe when it gets its first service I can have them check it. I’m fully capable of removing a door panel but it’s under warranty. Plus in heavy rain my collision monitor light comes on. It’s off when I restart truck hours later

 

Heavy rain gets picked up by the sensor, so that is normal. Should say something to that effect in your owner's manual.

The door won't be covered under warranty. You might be able to put in a claim to your insurance though.

 

Warranty or not as @AzureNightmare stated it won't be covered.

It would take you less than 5 minutes to pull that panel off.
Another 2 minutes, or less, to pull the speaker..

I'd rather know what is going on than to trust a dealership rookie mechanic to tell me.

 

Don’t file an insurance claim! This happened to me. I filed a claim only to find out it’s an 80 dollar piece. I cancelled the claim but it always stays on the record of the truck. It will always show up on a car fax as damage! You’re better off just taking the ten minutes to change it.

 

You take it in for an estimate in case you bent or broke more than you are noticing. Then file if it's enough that you don't want to pay out of pocket.

 

Damn, sucks that happened on a brand spanking new truck. Good luck and keep us posted.
