No, you are not asking too much. The connectors that I used are not EXACTLY Delphi, but less expensive, waterproof copies (as actual Delphis are RIDICULOUSLY expensive. Here is a link to the kit that I purchased:

If you are not proficient with crimping and soldering, you may want to go a different route. I, however love tinkering with electronics and thus, jump at the chance to do this sort of thing.
Regarding the pods: By "DD", I am assuming that you mean "daily driver"? I do not run them during the day, of course, but at night, I run them all the time. As long as they are not pointed up to where the beam is actually ascending beyond straight, it's not a problem. They are very bright, but mine point just a tad down, below the headlamp beams, and thus, I have not pissed off any oncoming drivers that I am aware of. As far as legality is concerned, I am in Texas and this is a gray area. But my assumption is that as long as they are not pointing directly into oncoming drivers' eyes, then I am good to go. No issues yet, with the law and do not expect any in the future either. I'm not the only one who is using these in this function. This is my first time using LED pods as fogs and therefore, not sure how long they will last. If these fail in the short run, then I will bite the bullet and purchase Rigids.
