Are the door speakers 6x8 in the front and 6.5 in the rear? Crutchfield says a 6x9 won't fit the front. :notsure:

Aren’t the 6x9s but need the brackets for the fronts and 6.5s for the rear plus brackets? Definitely not 6x8

    ^ This.
Not so much brackets, but spacers.

Crutchfield says a lot of things won't fit in your Tundra.
If it isn't literally plug and play, or no modification needed, they say it won't fit.

Front doors are indeed 6X9, but they aren't very thick.
They have tiny little magnets on these 2 ohm speakers.

As @Do58 stated, for good aftermarket speaker, you'll need a spacer to clear the window glass when it goes down.
Most people make their own out 3/4 MDF.
My MDF seemed to be falling apart after a few years even though I painted them.

As much as I don't care for their customer service, taco.tunes makes some really nice solid plastic speaker spacers.
You'll need the opening (bottom) dimension of the speaker you're using.
They are cut to fit and 1" thick.
I'd post a link but I don't think it would post here.
I can't even post a pic of them from their website.

I ordered mine and had them 8 days later with their free shipping.
They also have wiring adapters that plug into stock plugs, I didn't use those.
These adapters are the only thing I would ever buy from them..

I installed one door and ran out of time.
I need to do the other door and I'll take some pics and post them in another thread.

I know that if you didn’t want to wait for shipping any car audio store will carry them. Best Buy has them if I remember correctly. Also, when people do mdf that’s fine but mdf is best for inside a vehicle where no water or moisture will get. Yes, it’s inside the door but water and moisture gets in there and that is why it will swell. Abs plastic of some sort would be much better in this senerio. I know a lot of people have even used plastic cutting boards.
