Hold the Line! If you are not holding the line, abandon your ship. Destruction is inevitable without more to hold the line!
So I am considering keeping the truck now. I posted it up for sale for $5,500 and have received close to six legitimate phone calls in the last 12 hours of people interested in it. I might just go buy a new vehicle and then turn this into my off-roader. I figure I could take it up to the local Vo-Tech buy a used motor on eBay and let the Vo-Tech swap the motor for me, even if it takes them 6 months it
doesn't really matter to me. Then I wouldn't have to worry about tearing up my new truck.

What do you all think? Also how much money do you think it would cost to supercharge or turbocharge a motor?

If you pull the motor I'll buy it for cheap :D I bought a used supercharger on ebay and had to fabricate a couple components it was missing, but all in was about $4k. New they're like $6-7k. Turbo setup would be totally custom which means bucks.

I am around 90 % sure that I am going to get the old tundra built as opposed to buying a raptor. I went and test drove the 77k raptor and honestly wasn't too impressed. For the money I expected more.

So, I am going to contact a local Fabrication shop to have them do the following:

    1. Supercharged 5.7l iForce
    2. Mid or Long travel suspension
    3. 35" beadlock tires
    4. Rear differential re-gear, plus locker

I am thinking that this will cost around 25-30k. Then I will have a much more capable truck than the raptor for cheaper. I just cannot justify 77k for something with a plastic oil pan. I mean, don't get me wrong, the raptor is nice, but not that nice lol. What do you all think am I thinking straight? Any advice on the build?

Wow, this went from stranded, to under $10k for repairs, to buy a new truck and tack on an additional $30k into the "stranded" truck... This is awesome logic. If you can flip the bill and get something truly worth the money (supercharged 5.7) that would be the way I would go too. Get a f350 for the tow, and rebuild the Tundra with a beast of a motor. No better excuse to do it than your current blown motor situation.

What about looking for a complete wrecked donor truck with good lower mileage engine and trans / t-case? Even better if it already has a blower, but that'd be dreaming, right?

Before starting into the project I'd suggest having a real close look at the frame and body for rust issues. It looks clean in your pics, but at 14 years old it's worth considering.
