What's everyone's opinion of the Toyota OEM tire jack that comes with the Gen IIIs? I had to change a tire out on my 2019 Tundra in the back 40 over the summer and it didn't strike me as the best jack around. Granted I've been fortunate in life to not have to change many tires so not much of an expert.

I decided that I wanted to invest in a better jack to take with me on backcountry excursions. But after looking at all the different options on the market, the Toyota OEM jack seems to be one of the best things going. Hi Lifts are dangerous, other bottle jacks are just as good at best, a floor jack is too bulky and heavy, and I have zero interest in the exhaust jacks. Is there anything else I should be looking at?

At a minimum, I would like to get a base to widen it's footprint. Are there any bases designed specifically for this jack?

It’ll get the job done for sure. I usually carry a 6x6 block of wood with me just incase. In fact my floor jack was leaking fluid when I changed my wheels out so I did all four corners with the oem jack. Time consuming but it does the job

    Function before sparkle.
Carrying a block of wood like the @cctxquicksand mentioned is a great idea.

If you are looking for a replacement, try to find a surplus H1 Hummer surplus scissor jack. Solid and long travel.

Carry a few blocks of wood. Some pieces of 1inch plywood or similar always helps. sometimes the ground is muddy, sandy etc and its nice to have enough support.

Not really looking for a replacement per se, just wondering if there are far and away better options on the market.

I've seen that one. Seems to get decent reviews. Have you had to use it and if so, do you like it?

I definitely like the Jack and I have personally used it in Death Valley, actually a few of the guys I run with have the same Jack. It’s hefty and more stable with a block of wood.

The Powerbuilt jack the guys above posted is a pseudo jack stand as well as a jack. The concave lifting point is much better than the quarter sized point of your average bottle jack.
