SR 5 fender flare

Hi,
Was looking to add fender flares to my 2003 SR5 long bed.

Want to stick with an OEM one if I can.

Really wanted the Ivan Stewart ones I had on another tundra. But not going to find those any more.

So thinking about the stock SR5 ones.
Another guy told me they just bolt on. But when I checked with dealer they said that they only had ones that required the factory holes in the side of the fender to clip on.

And I am guessing would be pretty hard without a template to add the holes for the clips.

Also not the TRD ones that I think look a bit to large

 

No bolt heads. Actually have not seen any oem flares on a 1 gen tundra that has bolt heads.

The stock OEM TRD ones look a lot larger to me than the SR5 OEM. Is that right?

Did see then. But they stick out morethan I want. Bought some of the EGR brand and they will work as my last resort. But they dont seem quite up to OEM quality.
Dont mind the cost if I can get something better, since I plan on keeping the truck for 10 to 20 more years.

 

Have you ever seen if the SR5 ones just bolt on in the wheel wells like another guy said?

If you would let me know how much they stick out past the fender. I got the EGR ones that only stick out 2" or little less. But not to sure of the quality. Seem a little flimsy.

So would like to find something else.

Yes, I had no idea they were that rare until now. About 12 years ago bought a set for my first Tundra and they seemed pretty popular at least on the forum.

I even offered the guy 1K I just sold my 2000 tundra to if he would let me keep them for this new to me 2003 Tundra.

 

Wow! We own a 2002 Ivan Stewart now. We bought it used years back and was searching hard for some spare parts. Unfortunately couldn't find any. So really hope nothing happens to it.

 

Yes, just think if you had a small accident and you needed even just one flare. Would have to replace all 4 with some much bigger aftermarket ones.

Ended up getting the EGR flares and I am pretty impressed. Close to the IS flares. Stick out a little less than the bushwackers and can still use the mud flaps.
