I'm still curious to see the temps of the OPs transmission when he's not going 80mph for 200 miles.

HOLD THE PRESSES!, I’m out of beer! Wait a sec, what’s that in the back of my freezer? It’s a bottle of vodka! The thread can continue. Carry on.

So you're seeing similar temperatures with a transmission cooler to what a lot of folks with 2018+ trucks (without a cooler) are seeing. Hmmmmmmmmm.....

What's the point of that, it should be able to do 80 for that long without getting any warmer than usual. That's normal speed limit in some parts of the country.

That's frowned upon in today's society. The scientific method has fallen out of favour.

45 is also normal in some parts of the country. I bet your atf is cooler at 45 than 80.

I don’t think I have an issue with heat in mine. My truck is white and everyone knows that white reflects heat. :bananadance: Oh, and white trucks are naturally faster.

Yes, mine is white and is definitely faster.

4 pages later and my Christmas ale is tasting better and better.

I feel like this thread is going in circles. Just like every other trans temp thread.

White here as well. . .and just to be safe, I removed the trail package boxes from the bed to remove any added stress from the extra weight!

The only purpose these transmission threads serve is entertainment. Other than that, they’re completely useless at this point.

You know you have the best half ton on the market when the biggest complaint on the trucks message board is about something that has yet to fail and hasn’t had any problems that we know of due to a design change. We truly have something to be thankful for this thanksgiving

If you drive the truck backward will the transmission freeze?

I saw 243 pulling an empty trailer at 65 mph, so I guess the trailer weighed a couple 3, 400 hundred pounds. So yeah, I opted for the cooler, no brainer..

Everyone drives differently. Some tow at 60mph in S4 while others tow in drive at 75mph (me). Some roads are flat some hilly. Some members had alarm I saw 225f going 70mph with ATV in bed at 78f outside. I installed cooler and haven’t seen above 195F under any conditions. I live in swamp houston where temps are in 90’s from May 15 until November 1.
