Good backup camera for the first Gen

    I’m putting a new head unit in and was curious what a good or at least adequate backup camera people have used

    I used a very similar camera on my installation. Mounted it under the bumper, right below the license mount. Works great and looks good at night.

    I have this one and works great.
    I really wanted just the trailer hitch type. And for the price did not expect the camera to be good quality. For the price was worth for the receiver mount. Even if to change the actual camera out. Surprised it works so well for the price. Time will tell how long they last. Only had about 4 months now.

    Also when running the wires to the back. I also added this 4 pin wire.

    And then buy the adaptors to convert to RCA/power plugs

    So ran the cheap one that came with camera taped to this 4 pin wire. Maybe overkill. But was easy and cheap to do.
    All the camera wires out there seem so cheap and thin to me.
    In case I ever have a problem.
    I will be able to trouble shoot easier and have extra wires to try.
    Or if the cheap cameras dont last. Have the option of buying a used OEM quality camera off ebay. They seem cheap on ebay but very expensive from the dealer.
    And all the oem ones I have seen take 4 to 6 wires. Never did get to the point of figuring out why. But thought I will be covered if I wanted to try one.

    I went thru Master Tailgaters for my mirror. Maybe a little more expensive but high quality and a lot of options to pick from. The OEM mirror is the one I am holding.
