Love the growl of a big V8. Currently have S&B CAI and TRD dual exhaust and the truck sounds good.

Have a buddy that added new headers on a V8 F150 and it sounds amazing.

    I am concerned about:
    1. Affects on my warranty (have 16k miles)
    2. Drone

My 10k service, they marked my ticket stating i have the CAI, so maybe my warranty is already diminished?

I have watched videos on YT, but that does not really help me understand (for question 2). I do not tow anything regularly.

    What say Y'all?

It’s my understanding that headers void the warranty.

It will not void the warranty. You are replacing headers and mids possibly custom cats? None of that would be covered by toyota

Headers could effect the ECUs ability to properly adjust fuel trims without a tune. Even so, tuning voids it regardless. Will it actually cause issue? Probably not. But Toyota certainly could have a solid argument for it if you happened to run a little lean and melt a piston.

If you want to keep the warranty, don't. Yes, you could fight under Magnusson Moss, but are you financially and emotionally prepared for that battle? Go get a catback.

Personally, I wouldn't mess with it. The truck comes with a SS 4-2-1 header combo and is highly tuned. BUT... If you do want to go down that path, I suggest contact @dirtydeeds for advice. Keith knows what's up when it comes to Tundras and their exhaust systems.

The warranty will not void. They will not cover parts directly related to header install they cant say headers caused the uca boot to leak

Your warranty will stand for anything on the truck that is not related to the function of the headers.

As for the headers, if you should develop a misfire, or your O2 sensors fail, they could argue that your headers contributed to the problem. Anything else for your motor is a stretch to blame on headers.

It's a Toyota, we don't need no stinkin warranties.

When I installed headers on my 2010, the dealer did it and said I’d have to sign something saying I understood it would void my warranty. When I picked it up they forgot about telling me that and I didn’t mention it.

But headers didnt do anything for me. It was a waste of money and i only had issues with o2 simulator and had to get cats welded back in. That truck had a sc and trd exhaust. I wouldn’t do headers again.

Yes it was louder. With the TRD exhaust, it was too loud. Welding cats back in made it quieter I think and then I also welded a dual magnaflow muffler in place of the TRD exhaust and that made it sound just right to me. It was years ago so I don’t remember exactly. I do remember the issues with the o2 simulator.

To add to my previous post, I think sound is relative to who hears it. I mean it might be too loud for me but just right for you. I thought it was loud but I also have a wife who would complain about the loudness too.

I researched this and found out that the sound inside the cab is much louder, especially if you don't use the factory cats.
This fact, the installation cost, and the cost of the headers themselves were deal killers for me.
