In the house, that "box" would be over 100 degrees for about 4 months here.

I wish I had access to a garage. I hate getting bird poop on the car and pollen every spring.

We have our fitness room set up in what is supposedly the den, or office. Or whatever you want to call the room that's the same size as a bedroom but doesn't have a closet, so it can't technically be called a bed room. You could also pour a slab out back, build an enclosed porch, and put the gym there.

We have 3 cars and only a 2 car garage. While I'd love to have at least a 3 car garage or space to build one, this is not our "forever" home town. We got in cheap, so banking the extra cash for our next place/adventure - which if we work it right will be where we plan to retire. The bitch of it is, by the time we have both the money and the space, we probably won't need a 3rd garage anymore... :annoyed:

The only reason mine will go in the new garage is if there's a big snow coming and I have to drive in it, or for a hail/wing storm. I had a basketball goal blow over on my pristine mustang a few years ago. I don't plan on letting something like that happen again.

Otherwise, it's yard stuff and workbench type stuff. I'll have a 1500 sqft unfinished basement for the gym and hobbies now. I'm pumped. And you all can be pumped for me too.

I picked up a daily driver last year and since then have been keeping the Tundra clean in the garage. Like you said, treating it like a Porsche. It's nice to keep it out of the sun, rain, and snow, but really I don't know what I am preserving it for.

Almost posted it for sale this past summer.

To be honest when I bought my house four years ago, a garage wasn't a requirement. The house I bought happened to have a two car under (bonus), and I have to be honest, it's now SUPER important to me that my vehicle fit in said garage! I never had one prior, as I lived in a garden style condo, so I didn't know what I was missing, but now that I do...

I am not into the mods anyway, but if I was, a lift or bigger tires would be out of the question as I wouldn't risk not being able to park "Blueberry" inside. I LOVE not having to clean snow off or having to defrost the windows before I can go anywhere, and not having to go outside when its pouring out etc has been awesome. I love getting into a nice toasty truck, with out having to idle her for 15 minutes before hand. So long story short, yes it does matter to me...

A garage is important to me. With no garage I wouldn’t be driving new vehicles. I’m lucky to be able to park my truck in a garage at home and at work. 8B200C06-E0E4-40AA-9C0A-B27027800C20.jpg

I wish I could. But my garage has "toy" cars in it, including my '66 Plymouth and my Miata. My truck wouldnt fit even if I wanted to take something out and put it in. Maybe someday. I'd LOVE to be able to keep it inside and safe.

It can get pretty dang hot in the summer and cold in the winter. The garage is insulated so that helps but the cold or heat wont stop me. :militarypress:

I've had a gym setup inside before but I'm always worried about damaging the floor.

By the time you have the money you may not NEED the 3rd car garage but I bet you could find a use for it.

My dream is to have a 3 door garage. 50' wide x 35' deep and 14' ceilings. Each door 12' x 12'. My dream garage would be heated, and one of the bays is for car wash/detail with H/C water and a drain in the middle. Because I'm dreaming, how about an electric lift for oil changes, lube and under the truck maintenance? Alas, I am fiscally and land challenged.

That said, my truck is a very expensive vehicle. I try to treat it the same way that I would treat a $50,000 bill. If there were such a thing. Would I leave it out in the rain, wind, snow, hail, ice? No, I'm more stingy than that. I want it to be protected as if it is a 2nd most expensive possession. Which it is. I have gotten creative with my garage in order to park my behemoth inside. I have three convex mirrors strategically placed, and have a practiced routine to be parked inside. I'm sure we all think of our weather as tough on vehicles and I'm no different. Central Oregon winters are long and harsh, and central Oregon summers are short, but intense. Until I can sort out my dream garage, I'm committed to a daily dance routine with mutiple lock to lock entries and exits.

Until recently these past two years my truck probably spent less than 5 days parked outside overnight and had less than 5,000 miles on odometer. Now im finally starting to enjoy my truck im driving it more than 200 miles a month etc.

Coming from all used old trucks the tundra is my first new trick that costed more than $6,000.

Here in New England, mine is parked in the driveway during the warmer months while I am riding my motorcycle. But in late October, Early November the motorcycle is put away, and the Tundra is garaged. If I did not have a motorcycle, it would be garaged all year.

It looks like a tight fit in the photo, but we can open all four doors and get in and out of the truck inside the garage.123628987_392731668524605_9008248572466075924_n.jpg

I only park mine in the garage during snow storms (pain to clean the truck off and easier to snow blow without it in the driveway).

How do those mats hold up? I kind of assume rocks under tire would eat them up in a couple of years?

Garage a must here, it’s either glaring sun or oodles of snow and zero temps. We’re fortunate to have a adequate two car garage and a small shop. Keeping vehicle out of the sun and wet intervals pays dividends later in resale value.
