Perhaps in N.H. the slogan is no longer meaningful. Not my problem.

Not saying I like it. . . But looks better than the trucks around here that are lifted in the front and damn near scrubbing the exhaust in the rear. . .

I saw this the other day. I guess he didn't know those are steps where he mounted the lights...of course it was a GMC.

Many people that go for this look don't know and/or don't care they are trashing their bearings, straining axles and studs.
While a wider stance does create better stability, when the steering pivot point is not inside the wheel, it transfers forces to places not intended. EX: increased leverage on tie rods when braking.
But hey if they can afford the wheels and tires, they can afford to cover the maintenance.

Not my style but to each his own, I guess.

I've been told those steps are useless when you have a canopy. So why not put lights in them?

    Egg-zachary!

Simple thought experiment: extend the distance from wheel to hub by an obscene amount... let's say 10'. Now it's easier to envision the multiplication of force on your suspension and driveline components.

Maybe he (she, it, whatever) enjoys wrenching on their ride and spending money on replacement parts.
