    Hey everyone,

I'm looking to buy a truck this week and on the fence about getting a 2018/2019 model.
The reason is because I have read and watched some youtube vids suggesting that TSS has caused some issues for people with lifts.

Also one person mentioned that you can re-caliberate the TSS at the dealer after you put a lift on.
Can anyone confirm this is true and if this should solve the issues of TSS acting up?

I'm planning on putting on a 4.5" BDS lift if that is of any help.
    Thank you

It can be recalibrated, by dealer only. As long as it’s level (like it is from factory)

    Edit: rather slight rake

I have a 5/3 lift that left a slight rake in the front. No TSS issues so far. I think not having the rake might cause me problems. If I could get rid of the TSS, I would.

My '19 is getting recalibrated tomorrow. I told my service advisor I was planning on a leveling kit and he said good thing I told him beforehand because they can't address the recall after it has been leveled and he made a comment they were working with the guys that purchased "factory" leveled trucks from the dealership.

There is a lot of discussion in that thread about recalibrating trucks with a lift.

If you read through the whole thread, it mentions some dealers won’t touch a lifted truck. It also says that Toyota says if it’s lifted then the dealer should turn off the pcs.

Unless you have techstream, based on that thread you need either a good dealer or no it cannot be recalibrated.

Mine was recalibrated and hasn’t had an issue since. With the lift, they need to calibrate the sensor and camera together. If one is done and not the other, you will get the malfunction again.

I have an Icon Stage 3 lift and havent had any TSS related issues. The Dealer did recommend the re-calibration but for $550, I'm holding off until I actually have a problem. I have heard that once you go above 4" its more likely to see the TSS issues

This still make absolutely zero sense to me. The recall should have nothing to do with the lift.

It’s getting to the point where some of us need to get attorneys. Like I stated earlier. I’ve had pcs issues for 15,000 miles before I lifted my truck 5000 miles ago. I am not releasing Toyota from their obligation to fix this faulty system just because I lifted my truck a couple thousand miles ago, the issue is pre-existing. I just don’t get it. It’s like Toyota is trying to save money and pass blame for a shitty design.

I just brought my vehicle in for its first 5k service and was told they were not allowed to do the recall because it wasn't at stock height. I have 6112's set at 1.9" and a shackle in the rear. Hopefully not doing the recall won't affect anything.

Seriously?? Anything up to 3" doesn't even void any warranty, so how can they justify not doing the recall on a 2" lift??

I'm wondering the same thing. I'm wondering if I need to try another dealer, or just ignore the recall since I haven't been affected by any sensor issues, yet.

I’m having the same problems with my 2020 trd pro. Tried doing the paper clip truck but I don’t think it works with the newer modes. Got an appointment at the dealership this week hoping to get some good news. Mines got a 4 inch lift from ready lift.
