Hi all, just want to share my journey of getting into the Tundra.

Back in early 2019 (which now seems years ago), I was shopping for a full size truck and came across a dealer near me, the owner was in on that day and he just tossed me the key to a TRD Pro and say take it for a test drive.

I really really liked the truck, being in Canada, these things are not cheap, so I held off on getting one as I shop around, I test drove everything that had a bed, couple months later I settled for a Ram Rebel crew cab, reason being it was the most comfortable ride and I got killer deal because we had gotten serious discount through work, it was almost 20k cheaper compare to the TRD Pro at the time.

Mine was almost fully loaded for a 2019 model, only thing it missed was the air suspension and leather seats, I really enjoyed the truck, I liked it, but I didn't love it, I thought some simple mods would make me love it, but it didn't.

Some people had horrific reliability stories on RAM forums, but I didn't, the Ram was reliable, but there were lot of little things that REALLY annoy me, such as the MDS (cylinder deactivation), when mine kicks in, there's a very obvious shudder, I had issue with GPS often would not load which requires cycling the ignition, my rear seats also had missing bolts on the brackets that somehow made it passed PDI, I also had to fix carpet as some of it sat outside the door trims, the little things, but I must say the interior was top notch in terms of trucks.

Then came Covid, my wife switched to a 4runner TRD Pro from a Subaru WRX STi, I somehow really enjoy driving the 4Runner, I kind of understand the Toyota truck attraction now (after owning 3 different Camry's........ ).

the trade in value of my Rebel was the same as what I paid for when new, which was good news for me, after promising my wife I'd stop buying a new vehicle for at least 36months, I began looking again, Ford Raptor, Ram power wagon, Cummins, Ecodiesel, I liked them, but again, didn't love them, I called the dealership that originally let me test drive the Tundra, whom we also bought the 4runner from about a TRD Pro Tundra, he quickly told me there was one Army Green Crew Max left in Ontario, but I decided against it as it's kinda weird to have 2 same color TRD Pro's, told him I was willing to wait for a Lunar Rock, which turns into another story on itself since there are so few in Ontario (or Canada, I can't recall)

One request I had was having my skinny 35's on (285/75r18) Yoko X-AT's before taking delivery.

So far, I love it, the right size, the right sound, it's bit basic compare to the Rebel, but it gives a feel that it'll go to the end of earth and back.

Good choice. I had the same thought process- looked at Ram before buying the Tundra. I purchased a new Ram 4wd back in 95 and it was a great truck. So, looked at them again when it was time for a new vehicle. Could have had a brand new Ram 5.7 4wd for same or less than a used Tundra.

But I read the Ram forums and just did not want to risk having a new truck in the shop. Coming from a 2006 4Runner, I was spoiled and expected rock solid reliability on my next vehicle. I ended up finding a used Tundra with all the packages that I would have added at a good price, 4 years old and 32k miles.....jumped on it and have been happy I did.

Was meant to be, got it in January before the Covid mess and before used truck prices went way up. I could sell it today for 3-4k more than what I paid for it.

    Enjoy your Tundra!
