Does anyone know if dealers can do this? My cousin brought her car in for an alignment and they broke a part and said usually they don’t replace parts that break but gave her some excuse and said they are ordering a used part from the local wrecking yard to install if not it will take a week to get a new one.....not sure if this is something they can even do without being liable if the used part fails anyone have experience with that?

No idea didn’t ask her think a tie rod end or something possibly I’m sure it’s not major nor expensive but I’d have to ask her. Just seems odd they would install used parts.

Well its one thing to install a used part that does not wear but a tie rod isn't one of them. I would have a problem with that especially if its one of my female relatives. Maybe you should call up or visit the place on her behalf?

Shitty thing is for her she works there! U would think they would hook an employee up lol just feel bad I’m gonna see what the part is and if they are trying to take advantage of a young woman I’ll step in.

Never heard of that. They broke it , they need to replace it with a new part. How would you know how good the used part is? Sucks that she works there, if she makes a stink about it they probably would make her job miserable.
