I saw something hanging down from my truck, it turned out to be a rock sticking through a hole in the front skid plate. Upon closer examination I noticed the skid plate is bent in a few places. Funny thing is that I have only some light wheeling with it in Colorado and I don't remember hitting anything hard enough to do that. There was one drop of about 2 feet that I heard some scraping. Anyway I guess it's time for a replacement. Suggestions, RCI? TRD pro? any others?

Thanks for the link, Budbilt seems a pretty good option, as does the RCI. TRD seems overpriced.

I guess the skid plate did its job and took one for the team.

I had RCI engine and KW transmission skid glued together, but the engine skid gave up. Skids made at local fab shop for a little cheaper than buying the available ones. Very happy with them, but no oil filter door, have to remove skid for oil change.

Stock skids barely count as skids IMO, the metal is just to thin for any little bit of use and abuse off-road. Even tho the TRD Pro skid looks great under the truck, from what I’ve read on the forums, you get a better skid from RCI, Budbuilt, or Victory 4x4.
