Towing a clam shell snowmobile trailer

First winter towing my sled trailer (if it snows). So my question is, I'll be towing 2500 pounds or so, do I need tow/haul? Would it be better to leave in S4? The weight isn't there but the wind drag is ……………….. well like my wife says, towing a parachute. Any insight from those who have one? TY

 

I find tow haul to be noticeable even at that weight or in my case even around 2000. I use it on long trips. I left it in D. Maybe I should have used S4 but was less familiar. Since then I use S4 also but those have been much heavier and shorter trips.

 

Why dont you wait and see how it feels for yourself?

It is not a subtle difference really between T/H and I will bet you will figure it out quickly.
I doubt that you will "Need" to use much special consideration for the Drag but sometimes you might and others you ,ight not depending on the actual conditions on the ground at the time.
The Weight should not be a problem but the Wind can be amazing too!

If you find that it is hunting gears too much try T/H and see the difference.

 

Tow/Haul and put it in S4 or 5 with that weight. In my experience it makes all the difference in the world. I just did a 1400 mile trip towing my bikes (about the same weight), I played around with T/H and S or D a lot and found that T/H and S4 and 5 works the best. Just give it a try and see what works the best for you.
