2004 Toyota tundra 250k first issue with the rig, 4x4 crew cab with the dreaded electronic stability control, has anybody had any luck finding the nuclear reactor for the braking system, most commonly known as the master cilinder with ESC ?
I see posts from a year ago guys having the issue , my truck has been having the issue for ever, the abs would kick in after breaking even at low speeds , 10/ 2020 and I cant find the part anywhere , truck is not worth 8000 and dealer and Toyota still wants $3300 if they can find it , last I heard there were only 4 in the country dealerships , why does Toyota sell the whole assembly or nothing at all? do they know that when one goes wrong it most likely renders the whole deal useless leaking into the booster and sucking it into the engine and blowing white and grey smoke out the back as if they engine was blown? I'm ready to jump off a cliff!

Never heard of a brake master cylinder with built in vehicle stability control?
Are you sure your ABS sensors are working correctly? Sounds like one of them is not reading the wheel sensor and causing abs to engage.

Any mud on the truck? Clean all the mud off, check for frayed wires. A full blown sensor failure should throw an abs code so it sounds like dirt/mud is not letting your sensor(s) to read wheel speed correctly

thanx guys for welcoming me I consider myself very lucky to have had the truck for almost 17 years with all the OEM until now , it's been a beast , I just dont get why we dont have the parts available from toyota at a reasonable price and not conditioned to buying the whole assembly if we want to keep our toyota a TOYOTA...it makes me wonder if I want to buy a toyota again or stick to the value engineering and planned obsolence we have available at a moments notice..

Try a search on this site. One member used a Corolla Master Cylinder? which was the same part you are looking for but had a different part number. In essence, its a substitute Toyota part that works. Its been a while, but you may be able to find the thread.

This has been happening to my 02 for the last 6 months or so. Slowing down for a stop sign or a red light @ less than 10 mph sometimes my ABS kicks on. Roads were dry as a bone no sand or rocks that the wheels could slip on. Does make me pucker up because I go a little bit more in distance than I was expecting.

Yeah. It was a Sienna and not Corolla. You seem to already have good situational awareness on this one. Report back with success.

Yours might be bad ABS wire? Pinched or sensor dislodged?

I had to pull my ABS fuses for the same reason. After having a bunch of suspension work done last year either myself or the shop somehow damaged the tone ring on the axle. I've narrowed it down to that. Another member had the same issue and he was able to fix it by replacing the wheel speed sensor but that didn't work for me. Now I just drive around with the ABS light on.
