I have about 2" lift in front with Bilstein 6112s and running 0 offset Methods with 295/70r17s. I am rubbing the flaps but only in reverse - not an issue for me- but wondering what your thoughts are on removing the flaps. Leave em on or take em off? Thanks and Happy Halloween.

Yea that is a factor on why they are currently on; that and reducing paint chips. Love the 0 offset though.

I'm keeping mine and possibly getting longer ones before I buy a travel trailer or tow my dad's boat for him.

Also, it is required if the bottom of the fender is 10 inches above the ground unloaded, per Idaho law. I am unsure what California law reads.

I’m also on zero offset and am leaving them on currently, until I decide to flare or not. Kinda silly with a couple inches for poke but some protection is better than none

I had mine off for a little while... but put them back on and ziptied them back where they barely rubbed the tires.

Without the flaps... It sounded like rocks bouncing off my fenders every time I went down a gravel road.

I currently have mine off. I personally think the vehicle looks more truck-ish.

I recall a time when this was quite the opposite! Mud flaps were SUCH the ‘gotta have’ accessory (mad it wasn’t just “truckers” either) that had all sorts of possible varieties; from decals to various emblems to cartoon characters (Yosemite Sam still a fave) to silhouette “chicas” to every state in the union (dad always wore his Texas ones on every rig - WITH PRIDE!) to the ones with all sorts of lights and other reflectors to the (you name it!) It was there and available. Heck some even had triple and quadrupled mud flaps.

So I guess I am kind of stuck with the mindset that mud flaps MAKE the truck more “truckish”. However, I guess that was what my previous “18 wheeler was for”. :monocle:

It takes all of us(kinds) I guess...

Take it off take it off

I took mine off after getting 35s. Gives the truck a cleaner look IMHO. I’ll eventually take my nerf bars off too, but wife and kids need them, and my parents from time to time

The paint on newer vehicles is so thin and easily chipped... you couldn’t pay me to run my truck without mudflaps. And honestly I wish the OEM ones were bigger. But I drive a lot of gravel roads, and the .gov spreads a peagravel/salt mixture on winter roads here.

If you keep the mud flaps you need to get the Yosemite Sam “get off my back” ones. Those are the only legit mud flaps

I can't imagine how bad my rocker panels would look without them, not to mention I could get a ticket for not having them.

I’m not obsessed with putting the biggest tire possible on my truck so I left them on for the reasons others have indicated.

Get the rokblokz. They give better coverage. Just cut out the section that the body mount hits. They fall right in straight up and down with no rubbing at full lock.

I had to take mine off to fit 35” i kinda wish they would fit. Id have to cab mount chop or cut holes in them to put flat ones like rokblokz back on. And I still don’t know if they would fit.

sometimes it flips rocks on the paint
