Cup holder and extra pocket questions

With how many cup holders there are in this truck (2008 double cab limited) are there any other inserts for the cupholders to replace the OEM ones?

Also, what do you use the space under the cup holders for?

What is the opening to the left of the cup holders for? What have you done with that thing? Just trying to figure out how to use the space I have but don't understand the purpose of the "secret" compartment.

 

I have to admit that my 09 Taco had common sense storage although way too many cup holders. Yota engineers have been in La La land as far as storage from 07 and up. The engineers were outright clueless with the 14 and up....

 

The thing to the left is a laptop compartment because that's logical. I didn't know the space under the cup holders was supposed to be used, I figured it was to remove the cup holders so they can be cleaned.

 

When I really looked at mine, there’s actually some storage space under them. Wondering if anyone used it for anything in particular.
