Finally decided to upgrade! Trading in 2012 Platinum with the awesome rear seats thats recline and all the trimmings. Very good shape, 83K miles. Dealer offered about 22K for trade in. I'm ok with that- bout average or a bit above average. New one is 2021 Limited Premium 4x4 with TRD package. Plus moonroof, spray in liner, hard tonneau cover, predator steps, and sill protectors for 48,100K total down from 53,000K. Thoughts on both those prices?

I know the mpg still sucks and gas prices could always go up, but even a similar GMC would be 7K higher so I'm ok with staying happy with a tundra. Giving up some fancy platinum features, but gaining plenty of new ones so its a trade off. And it was time to trade up anyways. All it needs are mud flaps and hood bug deflector. Those still a good idea on new tundra? Right?

The 2021 Limited Tundra's are nice, but with the 4th gen Tundra around the corner, just make sure you don't kick yourself for not waiting. Trucks are expensive, so you might as well get exactly what you want and have no regrets later. Just something to consider.

I believe Sir...you have done well! the 2022's are right around the corner however you may have just purchased the last year Toyota will make the V8,5.7. It will go down as a classic and the potential for resale value 10 years from now could be a wonderful investment. Many will switch over however a few of us will remain and have on our hands a vehicle that newbies talk about and wish they owned. Great job Sir.

Oh ya sorry forgot to add - my tipping point was finding out this is the last year for this engine. Logically, I would never buy a new type of engine till they work out the kinks (V6 hybrid tundra or whatever they decide to do) and this engine is bulletproof and the reason i went to toyota in the first place. And the majority think this either a good deal or a steal.
