So i tried to be frugal and got the daystar bushing kit...I'm finding out now that I'm in the middle of nowhere in a farm shop that its junk. There was no warning that I had to reuse the stock washers off the bushings. After getting everything bolted back on I noticed there is play where the cam bolt goes through the frame. I'm sort of in a hurry to gtfo of here as it's starting to snow (I work out here in ND)

I have the spc cam bolts and the stock washers, I had to sawsall the old cam bolts out as they were frozen solid. Can I press the old washers off and use them on the daystar kit to get on the road or did I mess up by cutting old cam bolts?

The sleeve part that makes the cam bolt fit snug in the holes is kaput.

@empty_lord I know you know what I'm talking about. Any advice on what I need to do here. If I ordered lca's am I good to go with just the spc cam bolts or do I need anything else?

Everything is new other than the lca's with toyota or upgraded stuff.

    Can post pics tomorrow

I run spc cam bolt kit in my lower arms. Not following the part about washers though.

I remember reading that you need to burn the bushings out and reuse the metal sleeves that are in the arms to run the poly bushings, never understood why they would design it that way.

to be cheap. the washers are machined (well probably stamped) with teeth to help keep the bushings locked in place.

the "washers" are part of the sleeves.

Ahh I know what you mean now. Its kind of a flange on the end of the sleeve.

other than the fact i had a bent control arm, i also put new arms in just because i HATE dealing with these bushings on lowers. even my tacoma with every bushing being poly, has stock rubber bushings on the lowers. because once they start squeaking, you have to completely remove them and re-grease... not worth it.

With rust there is no way to reuse the sleeve or the washers for that matter. I'm in a pickle so I'm going to see what I can do tomorrow but it's not looking good lol

The daystar kit comes with sleeves and the spc cams fit perfect inside them but the washers are what's missing. I didn't destroy the washers so there is a chance I can separate them and try to use them.

I'm in bfe...on the Canadian border closest store is 56 miles

My next move is to take the OEM washers and make them work for now I guess. The kit came with 4 washers that do not fit anything and they are not mentioned in the instructions...worst idea ever getting these things

I don't like poly in general.

I have a set of stock bushings that I will use when the beck arnley ones wear out.

Yeah apparently they want you to reuse both of those washers...like who the hell has time to pry those off and use on a poly bushing. I'm not even sure they will fit tbh

Sounds like a shit design. Wouldn't be hard for them to provide sleeves and washers. Sorry man, I would be pissed. I'm pissed for you.

I'll get it worked out, really I should have did a little more research before relying on these parts. I farm and have no time to do my own things until the crop is off. Been pulling 15-20 hour days for the last 3 months straight and boom its snowing like hell and I can't get the truck together to gtfo lol

Just want to click my heels and go home

Problem solved....sorry for the late reply also was in a hurry so no pics but I got the daystar kit installed with success for now. So you have to get a die grinder and grind out the pressed on washers off the oem bushings both inner and outer. They have to fit over the daystar sleeves. It's a real pia but it got me on the road. I'd say pass on the kit but I guess once the hours of fabricating were done and it was installed I've quickly forgot about the issue.

Had it aligned and checked for movement after 400 miles on the road and all is tight and rides nice. Greased them liberally so no squeaking but I see that happening in the future.

Spc cam bolts are another little weak spot imo. The cam rides on threads and not solid bolt so we will see how long that lasts.

All in all I'm 500 miles into my journey back to mexico from north Dakota. Its rides sweet and can't wait to hit the trails with the new setup.

    Thanks guys
