I just traded in my 2019 limited for a thousand less than I bought it for new. Instead of purchasing another limited, I went with a 2021 Platinum. So in a sense I drove around the 2019 for the past two years for just the cost of fuel and car washes. If I knew I was going to do this I would have put my name on a 6 - 8 month waiting list for a TRD Pro. There’s one dealer here in my city that doesn’t mark them up above list.

Why the switch in trims? What are your thoughts on the Platinum?

Main reason was the listed price difference between the Limited and Platinum was $1K. So I decided to just negotiate pricing for the Platinum. As for features, I like the platinum seats better, everything was color matched (no chrome) except for the mirrors. I like the memory seats. Other than that it’s the same vehicle. I’ve ordered aftermarket wheels and tires. I’ll be reinstalling the Amp power steps and I might reinstall the TRD sway bar. Later I’ll level the truck once Bilsteins or OME or whatever is back in stock here. Supposed to be January 2021. The Limited I had was all stock except I got a blackout kit for all of the chrome.

Here’s a picture of the stock Tundra. Waiting for Fuel Beast wheels and KO2 tires that are in order. Will tint the windows, install the Amp steps—all next month because the tint is on back order and it’s hunting season in Utah. Planning to level the truck with different shocks but I kind of like the standard shocks that are on it now. I had TRD off-road Bilstein’s on my Limited and they were a much stiffer suspension. Besides I only go off-road a few times a year and it’s not very technical. I’ll take my 4Runner out if I know I’m going somewhere that’s more challenging.
