    I found this little plastic thing by the foot well. It has a bit of grease. It’s about an inch across

    Grease down by your feet suggests something from the seat track. That buggered up part looks like it was run over a few dozen times by the seat being moved back and forth and finally squirted out.

    I think that is the end cap for the seat rails. Check the rails behind the seat.

    Yup, seat track cover. Your's looks like it's been run on over a few times....
