C4 Fabrications prototype Tundra bumper

I’m debating if I want the C4 hybrid mid bullbar or no bullbar.... anyone here have the Hybrid mid bullbar?

 

Still trying to decide between ARB or C4 Overland with full height bar. C4 is only 2 hours from my house.

 

You're going to have to wait for the C4. 2 1/2 months. Maybe more. I ordered mine mid August with an ETA of November 8.

 

I would say always stay local. Screw the big box company. Especially in that state. There’s only like 500 of you.

I like the thought of more front end coverage of the ARB, but the C4 looks pretty slick. Plus I can pick it up myself, find a powder coater, and won't need to worry about freight damage

 

did you have to pay full price upfront ?

I just pulled the trigger on the front and rear overland bumpers. Now I'm waiting. I watched their install video. Any gotchas on installation??? Does anybody have pictures of the rear overland bumper?

I think I would have to agree.

The Victory one is very similar, and I was going to go with it because their hoop doesn't block the TSS on the regular grilles. (the only downside the the C4 bumpers) Two issues came up on the forum with some of Victory's products, and they handled both very poorly. Their utter lack of response and incorrect installation instructions were the final straws that bumped them completely off the list for me. I don't care what they make, or how cool it looks, I have lost all faith in the Victory name.

I feel bad sometimes when someone will say @C4 Fab takes ten weeks to get a bumper?!?!? Well, yes they do. You know why? Because the holes for your bolts will actually line up. And, if they don’t I guarantee they will fix it unlike other companies that have proven they will not. I will gladly wait ten weeks for a massive part that is hand crafted by northern elves in a secret shop just for that one bolt hole to line up actually.

 

Anyone that has the C4 bumper and a winch mounted inside, where did you relocate your control box to?
Trying to determine if I need the short or long relocation kit for a warn winch, C4 mentioned possibly fitting it next to the winch but I don't see how there would be much room to do so.

 

@Elfine has one and has stated he did not need any sort of relocation kit and he did not need to move the control box. He has a Warn also but I can’t remember what model.

 

It’s always amazed me that folks will search months and months for that one perfect bumper, find the one they like, then change their minds because it’s going to take longer than 3 days to get it.

 

Wholeheartedly agree. I won’t work with a company that provides poor customer service. There is no excuse these days with all the tech in place to get back to someone, even if you don’t have the answer.

 

Just ordered mine and eta is Dec.31st. I don’t mind waiting because I know I’ll have a nice and sexy bumper.

 

I am running the Warn Evo VR12S. There are a couple others on here with Warns as well. There is no need to relocate the box, the cable plug and clutch are still accessible via the access holes in the bumper. Even if it is under water...

Awesome I was only really concerned with the height of the winch with control box wouldn't fit under the metal plate going across under the grill, thats what C4 alluded to and said it would require relocation.
Not too concerned with water, they are rated for it and the truck has other area's of bigger water depth concerns before I worry about a winch. I am going with a Warn Zeon 12-S so hopefully it fits just as well as the Evo 12S. Where did you run the wires up to battery through?

 

I ran them behind the driver's fog and then straight up beside the battery. It was close but they made it.

 

Powder coat, paint or bed liner?

Just when I was ready for powder coat some other people suggested to just paint it because it’s easier to repaint or touch up. Now I don’t know what to do. I live in the south east, very little snow and I’ve never really thrashed any bumpers (on my personally owned vehicles at least) so I’m not too worried about damage.

Any suggestions?

 

I say powder coat or paint. Easier to touch up but yeah can of rustoleum or Steel-It is cheap.

 

I'm painting it myself.

Dumb question, how do these bumpers hold up on impact? Like hitting a deer on the road? Im looking at multiple bumper brands like Ranch Hand but the C4 looks the best.
