Wondering if you had an update you could share about your install. I know there are many of us who are waiting to get ours installed and I'm sure we are all curious as to what you are dealing with. Hopefully it isn't something bad but if you are taking off your third member it doesn't sound good.

Hey guys, I just wanted to give you an update on the regear group buy. I just got my gears installed from Matt and worked alongside with him so that I can learn a few things myself. I also had rear ARB lockers installed at the same time. As we were installing, I had complete confidence that the job was being done right as I asked many questions along the way. I did my due diligence by researching the gears that were used and I'm comfortable with the gears of choice. I live about a half an hour away from Privateer Motorsports so I was able to drive home under 60 MPH on the freeway in 30 minutes. In another few hours I'll be putting a few more miles on it and I'll get back to you guys once I reach 500 miles. In regards to myself and my experience, I've been working on cars and trucks for the past 40 years so I'm not a noob. I also hold a BSME and manage a garage so I've been around. I have no relation to Matt and this is the first time I've been to his shop so this is my unbiased opinion. Hope this helps.

Hi everyone, please ask vizsla if he followed the proper break in procedure for non rem polished gears. I don’t think it says to drive 550 miles right after an install.

A little of this and a little of that. Its pretty run of the mill.
Just as an FYI, my gears were installed by a different shop and I didn’t follow break in protocols. Drive 500 miles and then wheeled the piss out of it in Mojave and Death Valley right away. Then continued to wheel it with 2 different LT kits. Had it taken apart to make sure my gears were good and they had more yellow paint left on them than @viszla gears after his drive home. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

And he did follow protocol on the way home. Waiting and cooling as he drove to AZ.

You need to chill out Matt. You already asked about break in, read your text messages. I added a day to my trip when you did not get my REM polished gears on the install date you picked just to properly break in the gears. I have no idea what is wrong, but there is something wrong. Suggest waiting before blaming the customer so we both know, you think I have time for this bullshit? The pinion nut didn’t move, you re-used the old one and didn’t stake it, you said hit the pinion nut with an impact a few times, other shop said do not. Oil looked like new.

I think the biggest question here is ...why do you have 239 unread text messages?

Ha! It’s a game I’ve played with my oldest son since he was little, drives him nuts. Have 62,000 unread emails, both are spam/junk.

I don’t understand what you said. You will hear from me what it cost to fix, can forget about trying to blame me for break in though, already eliminated.

1st - OP says he’s with privateer, then later says he isn’t.

I’m trying my best to figure out why you felt this was the best way to handle this issue.
No one had bad mouthed you, only stated that they were, sorting things out.

May have been best to, sort things out before going after others in a group buy thread benefiting your shop.

Just seems like a strange reaction.

If I’m missing something, feel free to explain.

Kind of feel like you are unnecessarily stirring the pot... are you in on this group buy?

It has literally been 3 posts in a row trash talking OP... that’s 3 more than the member that had issues with his install....

Please all step back and just take a breath while things get sorted out

How am I stirring the pot?
I asked very simple questions and replied appropriately to the reply.
And yes, I was about to pull the plug on an order.

However, even without a purchase, am I still not able to pose a valid question?

Easy. He didn't say they weren't valid questions. What's to say @SC_TRD doesn't have a valid question too?

I was waiting to see what happened until the post calling out the guy for no clear reason.
    Hence the questions.

I don’t have a dog or a pony or anything else in this.
I was looking to purchase and felt the response should be questioned.

I can enjoy the fireworks, ask questions and even reply with silly quips.
That’s the nature of a message board.
I have not been offensive or rude or vulgar.
So, I think all is fine.
