I’m looking to upgrade my Tacoma to a Tundra. Actually I’d really be happy with a V8 in my Tacoma but that’s not going to happen unless it’s custom. My truck is over 10 years old, so updating makes sense. I’m really rough on towing capacities terminology. Is there a site that will figure this information out for me, like Ram does for their trucks?

Poke around the towing and hauling section. I think there are some threads with good info stickied.

All you really need to be concerned with on towing is the trucks payload. Payload for the particular truck you are looking at is located on the sticker in the drivers door sill. If you stick within the payload/tongue weight for the truck the towing capacity will take care of itself.

Tundras are capable tow units and will tow dramatically better than a Tacoma. The larger wheelbase, heavier weight and big V8 will make you wish that you traded your Tacoma long ago!
