Alaskan here...I was planning on upgrading to Bilstein 6112’s but I heard from a buddy that many have issues with Bilsteins leaking in cold weather environments. A simple Google search shows this too.

For those in cold environments, have you experienced leaking?

Missouri doesn’t get as cold as Alaska, but I’ve had my 6112/5160 combo for 4+ Years/45k miles now and I’ve had no leaks or any issues so far.

I do have some corrosion/rust from the stuff they put on the roads when it snows, but they’re still performing well.

Minnesota here I've got 170k on my bilstein 6112s and 5160s. The finish looks bad I'll get some pics. Mine are totally blown out they leaked since the second year on the truck. At this point my passenger side 6112 is blown out. But they've got 170k miles on them.

I had 6112/5160 for 2 winters in northern NY where sometimes it seems like we have colder weather and more snow than Fairbanks. I never had any issues I’d attribute to cold weather. Mine leaked too but it was a few months after putting it on before the first winter.

    They did rust extremely bad.
