It was around midnight, when I was taking out the garbage to the curb. As I was walking down the driveway, I heard a strange sound coming from the rear, driver-side of my 2018 5.7 liter Tundra. I narrowed it down to the rear, driver-side wheel well. It sounded like a small, electric motor running. Now, I am assuming that it was the fuel pump. The truck has not had the key in the ignition for over 5 hours at this point. Perplexed, I went to get my keys, put them in the ignition and turned the ignition to "on", without starting the truck up. I then turned it back off, and the sound was gone. I went out an hour later to see if it was doing it again, and it was not. I have never heard this on my truck in the past.

Does this sound odd to you all? I already verified with my local dealership that my truck is NOT on the recall list for the fuel pump issue. But my concerns are pretty obvious: battery going dead, and abbreviated fuel pump life. And besides, how the hell could it possibly be running with the ignition OFF??

Sounds like the periodic checks that they fuel system does on it's own to me. The vehicles are pretty smart and do system checks on their own, even when they've been turned off for hours. That's why you can't just park a new vehicle for weeks at a time.
