Has anyone added JUST subwoofer to their 2017 Tundra with a JBL system? How did it work out? I am looking for a low cost, easy upgrade.

If you search here (use google, this search sucks) you see that its been done many times and I think they almost always end up replacing the Amp.

I'm in the process of upgrading and have only done the speakers and plan to do the AMP this weekend. I did the sub first and the sound was warmer, but clearly the stock JBL AMP doesn't really drive it. Between the weak AMP and not being able to overcome the strong front stage of the dash speakers it didn't really do as much as most folks would like it to.

Like what @rockmup stated, the stock AMP just can't take the where it should be.
