Hello. I have a 2016 crew max 5.7 liter flex fuel. Recently while up in the mountains the engine would not turn over unless I applied the gas pedal. The ignition turns but will not start unless the gas is applied. Do you know what it can be? Thanks for your help!

Let me clarify, the engine turns over but won’t stay running unless I apply the gas. I have heard flex fuel may cause an issue. I am also at about 10000 feet

I've not seen or heard of anything like this. Tagging one of our Toyota Gurus - @Ruggybuggy TAG! You're it!

Sounds like an idle air control (IAC) valve issue. I had the same thing happen on my old 4runner.

I'm out. There just isnt enough info here to help. There are so many thing that can cause a no start and diagnosing would start by using techstream.
