I was curious about how the "Trail" tune (for Tundras w/long-tubes) compared with the "Performance tune. So, I sent the following inquiry to Bully Dog:

"Hello there. I have a BDX on my 2015 Tundra. I also have long tube, Doug Thorley headers, with the factory catalytic converters intact. I am running the “trail” tune. I always run 91 octane gas. So, my question; Is the “trail” tune as similar as it can be to the “ performance tune, “ but just makes sure the air/fuel ratios are safe under all circumstances when running long tube headers?

    Bully Dog's Answer is below:

"Trail tune is a step above stock. The tunes are all tested on stock vehicles so we can’t assure that the tunes will work fine for your vehicle. Premium tune is a lot more aggressive than trail tune."

The reason I sent this was I had first loaded the "performance" tune. Then went to the "trail" tune. It felt different, so I wanted to see. My truck won't be pushing air out like a Tundra w/JBA's and a killer 3" dual DirtyDeeds set-up. I might go back & try the "Performance" tune and do a data-log to check AFR's.

I'd probably follow-up with specifics around what the difference between the 2 tunes are as far as timing/afr target and anything else they can provide. I'm definitely curious now...

I put my truck back on "performance." Plan on doing a "data-log". Will share results.

Your exhaust is the top of the line, ARH's & dual 3" exhaust. My goofy, set up is probably somewhere between stock w/a cat-back and your set up.

    Thanks TX210!

Hey TX210. So I went out to do it this morning. I can't get AFR's as an option. Do you know if the Bully Dog does record AFR's?
    Thank you.

I have the Platinum BD, no AFR option. I don't run the BD in my truck either, just download the tune and back in the box it goes. I use a separate AFR gauge for monitoring.
