Does anyone notice/wonder if different states have better gas(maybe less ethanol). We always get great MPG in NC. I managed to get 17.5 MPG on the way there and 16.5 on the way back. Granted, a lot of that was going 60-65 on a highway. Still not bad considering all the changes I've made to the truck and all the weight we were hauling.

I'd put it more to elevation. TN to NC is mostly "downhill" not a lot but enough to impact fuel mileage.

Actually, western NC is far more mountainous than where I live. I had to drive right through the Smokies to get there.

No idea. I used to get that feeling when my brother and I spent every weekend at pick-a-part and we would see cars like that.

Typically pick a part cars are non biohazard cars which means if they were in the car it was minor injury if wny

Now when you walk actual lots of cars I. Horrible wreaks. That’s a different story.

The roof was cut off & 'only' the drivers door, so likely a hit in the nose, pushed it back enough to jam the doors. Basically they cut it open to free the driver.
Salvage crew throws the bits fell off into it before towing from scene - such as that bumper laying on the seats.

Just ordered the parts necessary for the GX460 brake upgrade. I went with Toyota pads and Raybestos calipers and rotors from Rock Auto. Once they arrive I'll visit a few machine shops to get a price for modifying the calipers.

    Well, I'm stranded...

Noticed when I got in the truck to leave work that interior lights were flickering, and battery gauge was reading a little lower than normal.

Drove to petrol Station, and completely forgot. I was thinking about the events during and after the power outage last night at work. Pure hell for 2 hours on start up.

Shut the truck down, and got petrol. Went to restart, and... dead.

Removed battery terminals, and cleaned. Reapplied Dielectric grease I had on hand. Nada.

Got a potential jump from a newer 3500 HD Duramax. Ensured good connection on both ends. Starter clicked after waiting for about 8 minutes of shooting the breeze.

Stranded... Mom is on the way with the jump box, and sequioa.

Battery might be dead flat now.

    I may need a tow...

Before you tow, is there any way you can just toss a new battery in? Maybe run to the parts house if the booster pack doesn't work?

Booster pack got her jumped. Time for new jumper cables.

    Possible bad cell in battery?

At 55 when I roll A window up/down dash lights/head lights flicker. I would think that the alternator could keep up? Especially at speed?

Once it cools down I'll go out and check alternator connections.

I had my multimeter with me at servo. Battery read 12.8 VDC. Edit: I realize that the Volts are important, but less important than starting amps.

Any thoughts on the voltage regulator thing?

As it stands right now, things I've eliminated as culprits:
    1. Battery. Load test at Autozone, and O'Reilly's.
    2. Connections at battery/posts.
    3. Connections at alternator.
    4. Connections at easy to get to grounds.
    5. Damaged rear light bar. (Disconnected.)
    6. Head lights (Disconnected.)
    7. All circuits fed from the small fuses in the engine bay.

Things left to eliminate which I will do tomorrow:
    1. Alternator. Start truck, and disconnect battery.
    2. Circuits from interior fuse box. (If I can narrow down where the issue is on a specific fuse I can figure out where I need to look.)
    3. Power tap for dash cam. Disconnect.

I'm 98% sure that my current alternator is the HD duralast equivalent. It may just be time for it to go away and return to Toy greatness.

Disconnecting the battery doesn’t tell much. It’s best to test the alternator by seeing voltage output under a heavy load (or better yet amperage output if you have an amp clamp)

when the battery is disconnected the voltage regulator kind of freaks out, the battery acts as a voltage stabiliser

I'd get an ammeter in between the battery and cable and see if you have anything pulling amps when the trucks off.

Looking for insight on wiper blades on both the Tundra and the other Hand Model Mobile.

Here is what I want to achieve:

    1) Unification of brand with new unit beams/blades on both vehicles. I want to pay for quality for both vehicles.

    2) The future ability to just swap in REFILLS into these new blades in the future when the rubber goes bad. I do not want to buy another entire unit(s).

I remember being able to purchase just the 10 pack refills and cut them down to length. Saving$$$. Now you need to spend $$$$50 per vehicle on throw away unit$ that allow no option for just slipping in a future refill.

Anyone have a brand or some insight?

Trico are the only refills I've seen for years and those were only for the standard blades. I've never seen beam type that could be easily refilled.

    What he said ^^

However, if you want the most bang vs. buck, I cannot stress enough: Get the Bosch ICON blades. I've used dozens of brand/model of wipers out there. I just found the ICON wipers 4 years ago and was so stoked with how they performed, I bought a pair for my wife's SUV, my parent's truck, and my MIL's VW. They're that good.

For my '06 the p/n for driver is 19A and pass is 19B, they're not interhangeable. Your earlier model may be different, use their parts finder to confirm: https://www.boschautoparts.com/en/auto

Fun note: Overly-robust guuurl had one but not the other when I ordered. I ended up finding a coupon for NAPA and buying there for local pickup. May not be an option.

I shit you not. Best wiper I've ever used.

I heard the ICON are good. I also heard the ENVISION are the highest end of the Bosch Line. I want that Refill capability in the future but not sure if Bosch can provide that.

No refill. ENVISION may be better, but the ICON is so damn impressive I wouldn't bother with anything "better". ICON is already better than anything I've ever used. I don't know if I can drive in the ran while having all the naughty thoughts the ENVISION might give me.

My truck came with Bosch wiper blades when I bought it 4.5 years ago. I have no idea when the previous owner put them on but they are still working fine. I'm so impressed that I bought a set for our Rav4.

Just replaced PIAA blades on my F150 with Bosch Icons. Much better performance. Will be gettubt Icons for my DC when it's time to replace.
