So this past weekend I installed some 48” OPT7 Sidekick lights under my doors with the help from some friends. They have sequential lights with the turn signal and hazards. I did not connect the wire to keep the yellow lights on with the parking lights. We then went to connect the wire for the courtesy lights. That’s where the problems began. When we connected to the courtesy light in the truck the sidekick light would come on, but then it would never turn off. Tried locking the truck, stayed on. We then tried connecting to the cargo light and some light, the sidekick stayed on. Tired turning on the hazards to see if that would turn the white light off and turn the yellow flashing on, nope, white stayed on. Nothing in the flyers in the box or their website has anymore information about this. We disconnected the wire for the courtesy lights for now. I emailed OPT7. Their first email just sent me videos that are already posted on the website. None of their videos are of a Tundra.
I have seen that some on here have the OPT7 Sidekicks but could not find anything about how they wired up the courtesy lights.
Has anyone been able to get them to work?
