.....when I get my new Tundra.
I noticed a few small things I'll miss when I trade my '04 F150 this weekend for my new SR5. First and foremost will be the key pad entry. I got very used to locking my keys in my truck over the past 13 years. It was a convenient feature. Next is the electric seat. I was surprised the SR5 didn't come with an electric driver seat. Don't need to use it much, but the multiple adjustments were nice. Lastly was the "compass" that gives you the direction you're going. Might be a moot point with the navigation app (?), but I did like the simple look to know if I was headed in the right direction.
Not meant to bash my new ride, just little differences I found when test driving.

My SR5 has a power adjustable drivers seat, compass in the mirror and in the navigation. Don't have the keypad lock tho.

I agree the keypad is a nice feature for the Fords. I would never lock my keys in any vehicle though. Windows are broken daily....and I am not making it any easier for some asshat to drive away with my shit.

For me, I am done settling on a vehicle. If I want power seats or whatever...they will come with it. If the cost is more than what I can afford, I save longer and figure it out. I really liked my SR5, and it came with everything I wanted except Nav. However, I didn't like Toyota Nav anyway. I'm a little surprised your truck didn't come with the stuff you listed as well. I also liked the dual climate controls in my Tundra. That is a must when traveling with my other half. She can have it warmer on her side and I can run cooler on mine.

Hope you end up liking your purchase. They are great overall trucks.

Think of the things you won't miss: Pushing it to the Mechanic; Being pulled home by a Tundra; Wondering how many miles ago you passed that last call box. I'm kidding of course. But I have had 3 Ford trucks and 7 Ford transmissions.

I just traded my 14' Silverado last Tuesday for my 17' Tundra I to miss some small things but this truck drives so nice it makes me forget them.

    Things I miss
*Rear steps in corner of bumper, I'm in and out of the bed all day long this was a huge plus to the Chevy
*Ability to display speed in center info display area
*Trans temp gauge, used this a lot since I pull trailers a lot

    Congrats on the new truck!

What happens to the Ford guy that relies on the keypad when it quits working with the keys locked inside? I was at a carwash a couple weeks ago and this guy locked himself out of his fusion. He couldn't remember the code, said he had it for six months! I believe the power seat, auto dimming mirror with compass and tilt telescoping steering column is part of one of the convenience packages. My 13 SR5 has All that and the trans temp gauge. I sure would like the indash nav and backup camera. The one in the mirror is kind of a joke. It was part of the same pkg on the 2nd gen.

These are the 3 SR5 Upgrade packages, middle ground is a good choice! I choose the 2nd and am real happy, I also love the big gas tank and try and not let it get below half tank or else it feels like I'm filling up my wife's Camry twice, lol!

I think the SP upgrade would have gotten the compass and possibly electric seat but it also meant a center console which I definitely did not want (I am a big dude and want to feel like I am driving a truck, not a car)

oh, and I forgot........no cup holder "in the dash". need to use the door or center console down (defeats purpose of wanting full bench seat). maybe I've made a big mistake ;)

My upgrade package was great. I got the 38 gallon tank, compass mirror, backup camera through entune, trans temp gauge.

There is an aftermarket bumper with steps on the corner.

Downside to the sr5 upgrade pkg is you loose the front bench, wish they would of offered it on all sr5's regardless of seating arrangement.

I have seen a few pics of trucks on here with the aftermarket bumper that has the steps but my guess is its probably gonna be something crazy like $800.

Is the trans temp gauge separate or just in the DIC programming functions?

Got curious and checked Toyotas site and they list the trans temp gauge as a part of the tow pkg, "Tow Package:16 Towing hitch receiver, 4.300 rear axle ratio, TOW/HAUL Mode switch, Integrated Trailer Brake Controller,15 transmission fluid temperature gauge, supplemental engine oil cooler, supplemental transmission cooler, heavy-duty battery, 170-amp alternator and 4/7-pin connector"

    So where is my gauge?

I have to say, that is one of my favorite features of the GMC rear bumper, empty or hitched.

Seen those, I think the f150 has something similar as well. It would work but I hate the way it looks when stowed away, just looks like such an afterthought. Gm has the rear bumper figured out for sure, great use of the space and the pockets in the bed to grab ahold of an pull yourself up with.

I agree with you. For 200.00+ for the step, an aftermarket bumper starts looking like a good option.

doesn't sound like you picked the truck you wanted. I personally have never had a use for a bench in the front nobody sits there anyway so i would rather the storage and drink holders etc. I'm with coloradotj i am done settling for 2nds it cost you more in the long run buying accessories to make it like you want.

I am glad I have no auto-headlights. I never had them in any of my cars before and I always piss off my wife when I shut hers off because of habit.
