Swirling is from poor washing practices. Either they ran it through a machine wash or some low paid “detailer” wipes them down in the parking lot. Just need some paint correction.

Black is a lot of work if your expectation is to keep it showroom...it shows everything. Avoid car washes like the plague...hand wash only. Learn how to clay bar it and get a good wax or ceramic on it. Spray on synthetic waxes work pretty well, but use microfiber towels and switch them frequently. Only wash the towels with liquid detergent. Buy a California duster and prep it properly...they actually get better with use.

there is nothing more beautiful than a sparkling clean black automobile...and nothing quite as rare.

I had a black Corvette that I won awards with... my wife used to kid me about my 5 step process...but wow...when it’s clean....

Your in for an uphill battle with black. Every two weeks, I go to a touchless wash and then wipe the truck down with some quality Rag Company microfiber towels from Detailed Image and P&S Beadmaker. Its not a permanent solution but it covers up some of the swirling which is good enough for me until I can do a full compound, polish and sealant.

There are MANY different spray products. I tried a few different sprays until I settled on P&S and bought a gallon of it. When I first got the truck, I bought some Mequiars Quik Detailer spray and I was very happy with the results as well. I was just on the hunt to find something that I could buy in large quantities instead of getting nickel and dimed to death by Advanced Autoparts every time I needed a bottle.

Also, for some peace of mind, you dont have any "Paint Problems" with your truck. Black is just a bitch to keep swirl free because it shows everything.

A DA polisher, Meguiars White Cutting pad and some Griots Correcting Cream, will make quick work of them unless they are thru the clear coat.

Search "swirl marks", or go to Detailing forum.

There's too much good information and smart guys here to summarize all that you need to know. Great results will require time and dedication to the archives. A must-read thread is "Ask the Detailer". Basically, your answer is going to come down to a high-quality random orbital polisher, choosing the right pad, choosing the right finish polish/glaze material, choosing the right protection, then maintaining the look with proper washing techniques.

Black is a young man's color; how young are you? :D

Ah, yeah, if you're highly motivated, you've got another 10-15 years before simply washing your truck becomes a huge chore.
