    That owl must have been old and near-blind. Looks like he was sighting on that Toyota emblem as prey, and discovered too late there was a huge pickup truck behind the "bird". Man, I hate it when that happens. :D

    Still rolling stock baby....
    I had a red tailed hawk do that on christmas day in 1994. Coming home from OKC after visting mom. There is a hawk on the ground standing by the shoulder in the grass, I see him and think hmmm wonder if he made a kill.
    Last minute with me running 65, he jumps up and take flight, then turns and dives down right into my grill, he stuck into the grill just below the hood, his legs flipped up and over the hood.
    I pulled over and pulled him out, his head was gone, could not find it, laid him over in the bar ditch and came home, nothing I could do. I looked over the truck more when I got home and found his head at the bottom of the radiator core support.

    Never fixed the grill, unless you pushed in at the top you never it.
