She's about 15, you can see the haze in her eyes. It's gotten much worse since this was taken just two weeks.


We're driving up to Asheville to see a vet tomorrow. She's still active, she has arthritis and doesn't jump on the couch like she loved to do. Eatin' sleeepin' drinkin' and poopin' just like normal so hopefully the docs up there can help.

 

Good on you for giving her that love. Too many give up on their older dogs.

 

Until she starts acting like she's in pain...well you know. Thanks guys.

New family member,
Meet Charlie Girl. 1/2 Golden Retriever 1/2 Labrador Retrieved.
8 weeks old.

Thankfully we came home with Gracie. Prognosis is not as bad as we expected but we still unsure the root cause. Blood is in the front chamber of her eye. They kept asking us if there's been any trauma and neither of us could remember till it dawned on me she did bump her head on the corner of the coffee table a few days ago. Didn't seem like a hard bump, she didn't hardly react. Her blood pressure is way up, it's being treated now. Gave her some pain pills.
She road in the back seat like a champ. Never did lay down, just sat there for 2 hours looking at the scenery roll by.
We'll be going back up to Greenville office next week for more test to see why the blood pressure is elevated.

Good thing I get my bonus check next week.

Tuco just met his new best friend, my cousins new puppy Von Loofy. Three month old bouvier, he will get around 80lbs soon so hopefully Tuco asserts and keeps dominance now while he can

Yeah, he's huge. Just turned 2 and he's about 165. These Mastiffs don't stop growing til around 3. I hope his growth slows for his joints sake. He was dealt a bad hand, already had to have surgery on both front elbows.

 

Unfortunately i don't know the backstory, its just a pic my wife found and sent me. But judging by the looks on their faces, its probably a love story.

 

Hey guys, thank you so much for the warm wishes. Just want to follow up after just a couple of days on her blood pressure meds it's down to normal range.


She's not real thrilled with so many trips to the vet lately. Diagnosis today is she has Cushing's disease. Blood is still in her eye but it's not as much. Doc said she probably will not regain eyesight on that left side. We got drops for her eye and meds for her Cushings and BP...I'm going to have to get a pill box for her!!
We got home and she was thrilled to be back, poppin' around the house as much as she can playing with her sister so she's has plenty of spark in her. I gotta make sure she's got eye contact on the milkbone for her to catch it.
Doc said she could have as much as 2 years...she's 15. I'll take it. She'll let me know.

Love it! Mine will always find something to put her chin on to beg. Pugs are so people oriented. She hasn't had people food for years because she is prone to "Garbage gun and pancreatitis" which wind up being vet visits. She still tries.
