Could you come to my house and smack my wife every time she uses a conjugation like "dranken" when she means drank or says bath when she means bathe?

People who don't mind their own damn business make me angry.

I took my wife lunch yesterday for her lunch break. We were sitting in my tundra in the parking lot eating burgers and a lady came up and tapped on the window and told us to put our masks on. When my wife walked back inside 30 mins later, that same lady called corporate in Chicago and reported an employee as not wearing a mask. Today, a "safety compliance manager" is going to do an inspection of the whole facility.

My response to the lady when she tapped on the window? "Lady, I was banging her like a screen door in a tornado last night. Why should I put on a mask just to sit in the truck with her?"

Agree. Example...where I live (aside from work), I probably go around unmasked 99.9% of the time. I can already hear people getting triggered, but here's the details:

    1. I live in the Ozarks in the middle of nowhere. It's VERY easy to socially distance, or just flat out run into people, if I so desire. (Which I usually do. LOL)
    2. We can easily do the contactless pickup for groceries and the like, and we do.
    3. I've already had COVID-19, have the antibodies, AND have been tested post-COVID-19 and the tests are negative.
    4. Masks are not for my own protection, as has been rehashed umpteen times elsewhere.

There've been a few times where I wore a mask outside of work, but in almost every case, it's been for someone ELSE'S sensibilities. If I know I'm not around people, am not sick, am not in danger of getting it from someone OR giving it to someone, etc....I'm not going to put up with Helpy Helperton telling me what I should and should not do - especially when their suggestions contradict the CDC and other guidance. LOL

What's makes me angry? i'm sure I will piss off 25% of the people on this forum with my answers.

    1. When people post "So I did a thing today". Lame. Are you 13?
    2. When people write "talk me into XX or talk me out of XX". Lame.
    3. When people say "looking for opinion on XX....and go!". Lame. Just no words for this one.

I don't generally quibble over small, one off mistakes. Half the time it's an autocorrect or talk to text issue, and everyone makes mistakes. However, persistent and consistent abuse or misspellings get to me. I see "loose" being used for "lose" all the time. I see "preform" being used for "perform" a lot.

Top it off with the fact that any attempt to consrtuctively educate on the error results in juvenile and indignant responses, and you have the slow death that is so sad. It doesn't matter if your intent is to help the person communicate more clearly and credibly. Nope. You're just a "grammar nazi" and "nobody cares." So, you just silently watch the bastardization and murder of a language.:(

 See! Everybody makes mistakes. I wish I could say it was an intentional test of the readers here, but it was an honest speed-typo on my phone keyboard! Thank you @NewImprovedRon for the constructive education of my error. The absolute irony of my mistake is delicious. :bananadead:

We still do at my school. My third graders really look forward to learning it. Proper pencil position is what I am currently kicking my son’s fourth grade butt with this very evening!

True but it means I'll be the one helping our kids with their English homework. (And their math homework and their science homework and teaching them how to do basic maintenance on their vehicles and...)
